Protection of the employees

In France, work conditions are defined by law and by collective agreements.

The number of working hours for a full-time week is usually 35 hours. Extra hours have a higher per-hour rate.

Wage equality and minimum wage (“SMIC” in French) are defined by law. The minimum wage corresponds to 7.83€ per hour (tax-included), which is 1,188€ a month (tax-included).

Terminations can’t be arbitrary. They are based on 4 principles: right to be heard (preliminary interview), explanation of the cause, period of notice and payment of a termination indemnity.

Employees are represented by a staff delegate. They can be part of a trade union.
